Learning to use manifestation techniques is the bread and butter of shifting your dreams into reality. The concept of manifestation is based on the law of attraction which dates back to many philosophical, cultural, and spiritual traditions. The law of attraction is the idea that like attracts like, suggesting that what we put into this universe – be it our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors – attracts the same. Energy matters.
Now, this doesn’t mean you can manifest yourself into a chair – for that, you’re going to have to look elsewhere (circle back to me – if it’s possible). It also doesn’t mean that we can control terrible circumstances and situations that just happen to us. After all, we can only manage the things in our control.
In this post, we’re going to double down on over 25 manifestation techniques that you can apply to your life – today! We’ll explore how effective some of these techniques are and how to use them to attract that dream life you want. I for one, have had quite a bit of luck with some of these techniques. If you met the 2019 version of me – you may have hit the ground running. Post-understanding and applying manifestation techniques (plus therapy, podcasts, and a lot of reading) version of me, is an entirely different human. So naturally, I want those successes and wins for you.
These manifestation techniques are great for beginners and veterans alike. Manifesting isn’t a one size fits all approach and often takes trying different techniques to truly get comfortable. So, let’s get into it!

27 Manifestation Techniques – Guide to Living Your Wildest Dreams
1. Law of attraction
The law of attraction is the belief that positive thoughts attract positivity in your life and vice versa for negative thoughts. This belief stems from the understanding that the universe is made up of energy and we can attract as well as manifest our desires using our thoughts and feelings. As such, like attracts like. Many believe the law of attraction is a universal law – similar to that of gravity. Ultimately, practicing this method comes down to you and your beliefs.
2. Visualization
Visualization is a manifestation technique used to visualize an image of what you want to attract. You can create a mental image in your mind or you can use an image you’ve sourced to help you with this exercise. Think about the sights, smells, feels, and everything in between. We want to get as clear as possible with the image. For example, if you want to take better care of your health – visualize yourself eating healthier meals, going for daily runs, lifting dumbells, and so on.
Many years ago, when I wanted to visit Thailand – I would peruse flight tickets daily and visualize myself purchasing a ticket, while sitting on the sand – watching the beach waves crash, leaving behind a brisk wind in its wake, as I inhale sweet mango-sticky rice. Lo and behold – I did just that. I wouldn’t say it’s a simple or definite way to exist but I find it helpful to visualize your dreams.
3. Vision Board
While on the topic of visualization – why not create a vision board? A Vision board is where you can store all sorts of images and phrases of what you want to attract into your life. Essentially, with a vision board, you are creating a visual representation of your dreams, hopes, goals, and desires. Plenty of famous people swear by vision boards and for good reason.
You can create a virtual vision board for your phone or desktop and a physical one on a bulletin board. Personally, I have a vision board as my phone lock screen with high-level goals for the year + I have a bulletin board of both short and long-term dreams. Creating a vision board is a fun activity to keep you focused on the prize.
It’s a good idea to tackle one area of your life at a time when you pick images for your vision board. For example – in regards to my health; I want to eat more veggies, I want to go for daily walks, and I want to stretch regularly. Once, I complete brainstorming ideas of how to take better care of my health – I look for images to match that and then I move on to another area of my life.
4. Affirmations
We love a good affirmation! Affirmations are positive statements that can be repeated daily to help shift your mindset. There isn’t one right way to use affirmations. You can write them down, speak them out loud, repeat them three times a day or silently think about them. It comes down to your preference and need. Be sure to check out my post on Daily Positive Affirmations for an in-depth rundown of what they’re all about.
There are plenty of affirmations that can help you manifest what you want in your life. For example, when I was going through a transition period in my life, in which I decided to be kinder to myself – I would repeat affirmations that were full of love and appreciation. My favorite affirmation for a time period was, “I am a strong, caring, and helpful person, that deserves all the abundance the universe has to offer.”
5. Gratitude
Just as the sun needs the rain – we need gratitude. Gratitude is a manifestation technique that asks one thing of you. That one thing is to practice the powerful act of being grateful for your life. The more and more you practice the act of being grateful – the more natural it becomes. When I began this practice, I struggled. A lot. I found so many wonderful things to be grateful for, but I was still on the fence about the greatness of my life. Fast forward, after many years of inner work – I feel grateful every day. Things like watching my dog fetch, walks with my husband, and, banter with my family is more than enough to make me truly feel every morsel of gratitude.
You can practice gratitude by writing down one thing that you are grateful for every day. It can be something like, “I had a nice shower today.” Eventually, you can increase your one-liner to a list of things you feel grateful to have in your life. My current practice comes to me through moments of joy that I experience on any given day. I find I catch myself in those moments and tell myself how grateful I am to have this life.
6. Manifestation Scripting
Scripting is a powerful tool to enhance your manifestation by writing out the desired outcome of your goals and dreams. The art of scripting involves writing a letter to the Universe or God (whoever you feel called to) and defining the life you want to live in the present or past tense. I prefer to use the past tense when scripting – while others may write in the present tense. When scripting in the past tense, you have a sense of trust that you have already achieved the goals that you seek.
It’s important to cover every aspect from what you feel, what you see, and what exactly you’re doing in the reality that you want to achieve. Details are important. After you’ve completed the script – read it out loud to yourself and put it away. I prefer not to think about or look at the script. It’s a good idea to practice the law of detachment with script manifestation.
7. Letting Go
Like Elsa caught in never-ending song – Let. It. Go. This technique involves the law of detachment – which is the practice of letting go of attachment to a certain desired outcome. Instead of hoping, dwelling, and ruminating; you trust the universe or God to take the lead and provide you with the best possible outcome. By letting go you aren’t giving up, rather you are surrendering to the process. When I find myself caught up in how I wish things would be or could be – I fall back and surrender. I trust that my timing is always right.
8. Whisper Method
The whisper method manifestation technique (by Sarah Perl, aka @hothighpriestess on TiktTok) involves getting someone to do something for you. This could be a text back from a friend, a job interview, or a promotion that you’ve been working towards. To being this practice, close your eyes and envision yourself walking up to a spirit that embodies the person that you need something from and whisper your request in their ear three times. Feel it. See it. Once you open your eyes trust that this reality is already yours. Own it with complete conviction.
9. 369 method
The 369 manifestation method is based on Nikola Tesla’s teachings in which he purposed that the numbers 3, 6, and 9 are the key to the universe. This method involves writing three affirmations, six times a day for nine days. You may choose to focus on a specific intention or desire and use that in lieu of an affirmation, but I prefer to create and use an affirmation for my desire. There isn’t a set number of days to continue this practice, but anywhere from 21 – 40 days is a good start. It’s important to preface that manifestation techniques should be used with actionable steps.
10. 2-Cup Method
The 2-cup method for manifesting involves writing down your current reality and your desired reality then tape each reality to a cup with water (half-full) in it. Then pick up your current reality glass, hold it, and feel right into it. How does that feel? Now, take that current reality and pour it into your desired cup. Hold that cup, and bring the emotion into what you know it will feel like when you’ve achieved it. By doing this, you are infusing the water with the desired reality that you seek. Lastly, drink the desired reality water to infuse that energy into your body. If you’re wondering why water is used in this process – that’s because water is known to hold high vibrational energy.
11. Pillow Method
For the pillow method, take a piece of paper, write your desire on it, read it out loud, and place it under your pillow. Currently, I have a note under my pillow which has been there for months because I believe doing this will help release my worries and fears around the manifestation not coming through. You’re essentially allowing yourself to release negative energy tied to that manifestation. Which allows you to receive that which you wish to achieve. You can keep the paper under your pillow until you’ve let go of any fear you’ve attached to it or until you’ve achieved the desired result.
12. Place Mat Method
The place mat process by Abraham Hicks involves using the law of attraction to do less, yet attract more. Draw a line down the middle of a paper, then on one side write a to-do list of tasks that need to be completed today, and on the other side, write down things for the universe, that need to be completed but – don’t require immediate attention. Take a picture of your personal to-do list (not the universe side). Then, throw away the list. Go about your day, complete your tasks, and forget about the universe’s to-do list.
When you write things you need down, you’re letting the universe know – I need you to do those things for me and that you can take care of the rest. By doing this your allowing yourself to receive from the universe. Let’s say I want to create a place mat list, my personal list might look like, “take Dobby for a walk”, “prep the bins for garbage day”, and “write a paragraph for a new post”. While, the universe’s list may contain, “finish a blog post”, “meal prep for the week” and “plan our summer trip”. Next, I’d keep a memory of the tasks at hand and discard the rest. Essentially, you are asking the universe for assistance by setting and forgetting.
13. Manifestation Box
As the Law of attraction states – energy goes, where energy flows. So, write down and create a place to house your thoughts, goals, and ambitions to let that energy flow. Simply put, keep the things that you want to manifest in a manifestation box and sprinkle it with good intentions. Before you begin decorating your box, set your intention for the box. Once, you’ve set the intention – forget it. Don’t dwell on it. Then, add your manifestations, wishes, pictures, and/or objects of things you want to manifest. I’m not going to lie, I sometimes use it like a pensive to store my thoughts (like Dumbledore taught me).
I did tweak the pensive idea a little – basically, if I have negative thoughts about a situation in my life – I turn that into a positive of how I would prefer it to appear and then place it in the manifestation box. For example, there was a moment when I was worrying about finances and wondering – why does my life suck? So, I took that thought and turned it into a manifestation like, “I never worry about paying my bills and enjoying my weekends because money flows to me effortlessly.” What this in turn did, was take this worry out of my mind and replace it with a positive manifestation. I don’t shy away from talking about my money story – read my post on how to manifest money to learn more.
14. Law of Assumption
The law of assumption is the practice of assuming, that what you want to happen will happen. This law allows you to attract, anything you desire into your life. We need to step into assuming that we are already living in our desired reality and embody that version of ourselves. When we deeply feel into that reality, we are letting it unfold for us. In turn, we create our reality. There are studies that speak to confirmation bias; that your brain looks for ways to prove your beliefs. So, we need to affirm and assume the desired version of ourselves for it to become our reality.
15. Meditation
You’ve probably heard about the benefits of meditation but the reality is it’s tough to sit in silence and watch your thoughts run. I’ve found many manifestation meditations on youtube and only completed a few minutes at a time. In your meditation – visualize everything you want in life, what you want to be in life, settle into the emotions behind it, and breathe deeply. By stepping into a meditation – you are allowing ease into your life and welcoming ideas to flow freely.
16. Journaling
Journaling is one of the most helpful ways to manifest. Essentially, you’re writing things into existence. A few ways you can use journaling to manifest your life is by writing down what you are grateful for, creating a love letter to yourself, using scripting, weekly intentions, bullet journaling, and daily affirmations. You can use any format you like and aren’t required to stick to one thing but it’s an important habit to create when you’re trying to attract your desired life.
17. Raise Your Vibration
Raise your vibration via your self-love journey. A self-love journey is when you decide to stop, drop everything and roll into prioritizing yourself. Some silly people might confuse it with being selfish, but I assure you there is nothing selfish about loving yourself. Start with writing down goals for personal growth, identify what you need to work on, pour your love languages back to yourself, and lastly, do a social media and real-life cleanse. You can’t raise your vibration if you’re stuck or stagnant in unhealthy relationships or expectations of yourself. Move, get up, grow, and vibrate higher (wink).
18. Sound Healing / Frequency Therapy
Sound healing, also known as frequency therapy is a manifestation technique that is often used to heal your body. Although there isn’t always science to back manifestation methods – people believe that sound healing can help you manifest your goals and desires by improving your mental and emotional state. The idea behind sound healing is that by using different vibrations and frequencies your body and mind embrace a therapeutic effect.
There are various instruments such as singing bowls and gongs that can be used to achieve different frequencies. You can also listen to pre-recorded sounds online such as the popular Solfeggio frequencies which is a set of six-hertz frequencies that have unique healing properties.
19. Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a technique that allows you to pass your ego and speak to your subconscious mind. It is typically performed by a licensed healthcare provider. Basically, you would be placed into a deep meditative state to help access your subconscious mind and replace it with what you want. In order to fall into alignment with your desires you would drop down from your higher beta brain wave states into alpha and theta waves to speak directly to your limiting beliefs. By shifting your limiting beliefs, you are allowing your manifestations to take flight.
20. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
The emotional freedom technique is often referred to as tapping and is used to neutralize negative energy blocks in your body by sending calming signals to your brain. This manifestation technique lets you release negative energy around beliefs you have about yourself. Start by sitting down, rate your belief from 0-10, then begin tapping at meridian points in your body and think of the negative ideas or statements around that belief. After a few minutes, stop and rate the intensity of that belief again – if it still feels intense then keep going. Once, the intensity has dropped down to zero start tapping with positive beliefs to replace the negative ones.
21. Subliminal Messaging
Subliminal messaging is audio recordings that contain hidden affirmations, vibrations, and/or frequencies which are created to be perceived by your subconscious mind. The audio helps shift your dominant beliefs and, in turn, manifest your desires. To successfully use subliminals, you need to allow for the messages to bypass your conscious mind. In order to work in favor of your conscious mind, use subliminals that you know are in acceptable alignment with you. Once you consciously believe that you are destined to manifest the life you want then you are opening up the messaging for your subconscious mind to imprint those beliefs. When you start to believe the new thoughts, you change the way you behave, think, and feel to align with your goals and desires.
22. Crystal Healing
In many cultures across the globe, crystals have long been known to provide direct benefits to your overall wellness. While there are tons of crystals, each with its own vibrational energy – not all of them will match your energy and needs. It’s important when you are starting your crystal healing journey to begin with something like crystal quartz, as it’s known for its ability to amplify energy and provide mental clarity.
To manifest using a crystal, start by visualizing yourself already living with your desire in detail. Next, create some affirmations to align with your manifestation. Lastly, hold the crystal in your hands, and repeat the affirmations while visualizing your goal(s). Repeat this as necessary and hold true to your vision.
23. Numerology
Numerology is a manifestation technique that can be used to manifest wealth and abundance. Numbers play a vital role for those that believe in the good fortune of numerology. Each number is meant to possess unique energy and represent different opportunities. For some, purchasing a home with the numerals like 3, 6, 8, 9, and 11 is considered good luck. Another way numbers play an important part is when we see angel numbers (repetitive or predictable pattern of numbers – 1111, 777, etc.) when trying to manifest our desired reality. Even dates in and around the new or full moon are considered the best time to manifest.
24. Full Moon / New Moon Rituals
A full moon or new moon ritual is a powerful manifestation tool that can help you set intentions, let go of the past and focus on achieving your goals. These rituals can be tailored to your individual needs and range from lighting candles or incense to meditating on goals and desires. The moon is the brightest during the full moon, emitting its strong energy, which is a time of heightened awareness and connection to the universe. Whereas, the new moon is considered a time of new beginnings and a fresh start. So, naturally manifesting during the full or new moon welcomes clarity, focus, and heightened energy.
25. Lucky Girl Syndrome
The lucky girl syndrome is a manifestation technique that took TikTok by storm in early 2023, thanks to Laura Galebe. The New York-based influencer claims that she started to be as delusional as possible, that things always work out for her and so they did. In essence, lucky girl syndrome is based on the law of attraction. To find success with this trend, trust that the universe is rigged in your favor and everything is working out for you. You have to trust in your gut that something good is always happening to you. Remember – you’re the luckiest girl (person) in the world.
26. Work In Silence
Working in silence is the best way to protect your dreams from negative energy. I often equate negative energy from others with the evil eye and I’ve come to learn that even those with the best wishes, unintentionally might jinx you. So, keep what’s sacred to you quiet, and let success be your noise. Sometimes, telling others your dreams welcomes their opinions – which honestly, you don’t need. Fuel your own fire and only seek advice from those that are on your playing field.
27. Act Like You Already Have It
Acting like you already have it is by far one of the best ways to actually have it. Let me explain. When I started blogging, I had 10 subscribers to my email list (all family and friends) and I had written four blog posts, which read like a 14-year-old wrote them. Even with 4 page views and 10 subscribers, I kept showing up. I had many movements that I felt like giving up and let me tell you COVID really shook things up for my travel blog. So, we adapted and I was able to shift Wander Is Calling (WIC) into a blog that prioritizes manifesting a life of abundance!
Fast-forward 4 years, I have well over 50 blog posts, I’m a writer and my email subscribers include awesome people all over the world – just like you (see what I did there). Click here if you want to subscribe to the wonderful email list – let’s be friends. I know one day I will have over 400,000 subscribers and so I show up with the mindset that I already have it. No matter the odds stacked against you, keep showing up and act like you already have what you want. It is yours.
I hope you find these manifestation techniques to be helpful in your spiritual and wellness journey. These techniques are powerful tools that can help you attract the life you want. I don’t stick to one manifestation technique, I either flip-flop between a few or mindfully practice only one. As life changes so will the techniques you use. These days I often find myself practicing affirmations, letting go, and being grateful. By using the tools above you can shift your energy and focus on what you want to create. Remember, the key to manifesting what you want is to stay positive, stay focused, and trust that the universe is working in your favor.
